The Gift of the Golden Witch

Just before the Banquet of the Golden Witch, she allowed the Golden Land to experience a beautiful winter, and invited a special guest to tell Ushiromiya Battler the story of how her magic saved Christmas 1985.  But he thinks it wasn't magic at all.....

In winter 2021, the Higucord fan server had a contest to create fan works based on 07th Expansion properties with the theme of "wintertime!"  I immediately had an idea for a Umineko forgery in which "Christmas magic" was the gameboard.  The project quickly got away from me in scope and size and the result is this VN, created with Creative Commons and public domain assets, and built with Tyranobuilder.

You will need to be an Umineko fan to get what's going on - in fact you will have at least needed to read to the Answer Arcs to see what I'm up to, and potentially you will need to have read through Episode 7 to really get a full perspective into what the game is about.

The executable you want is GiftWitch1.exe.  The estimated length of time to play all the way through is probably around an hour and 45 minutes. A nice long movie, quite short for a Umineko episode....

For information on the assets used in the game, check out "assets.txt" in the ZIP folder.

There is also something else in there you might find of interest after you play. An "Answer Arc" of my own....
